Ankle Sprain Recognition Technology
- Summary
- Ankle sprain is one of the most common ankle injuries in sports. In order to identify ankle sprain motion from other normal activities, an Ankle Sprain Recognition Technology was developed. Accelerometers and gyrometers were put on the foot segment. They were used in data collection of several ankle sprain motion and other normal activities. These data was then used to train up the ankle sprain classification system using statistical learning methods. After training phase, the system can identify sprain motion from other normal activities using data from accelerometers and gyrometers located at medial calcaneus.
