B-12 Fish Transplantation Technology

Technology Benefits

ΓùÅ An easy nuclear transplantation method for fishΓùÅ Low cost, minimum labor to create transgenic fishΓùÅ Low cost to create fish gene library

Technology Application

ΓùÅ Cost and time effective transgenic fish productionΓùÅ Establishment of cost-effective storage system for commercial or endanger fish

Detailed Technology Description

The step of preparing a fish embryo in this new method comprises a step of imposing physical and/or chemical stress to the unfertilized egg after activation at early stage of the development stages. Because a nuclear transplantation is applied to recipient eggs during its G2 or M developing stage, the correct embryonic chromosomal ploidy can be secured and transgenic fish can be produced more efficiently. This technique is also available to use as a new storage system for the establishment of valuable fish libraries.

Title: METHOD FOR PREPARING FISH EMBRYO | PROCEDE DE PREPARATION D'UN EMBRYON DE POISSON
Usefulness: METHOD FOR PREPARING FISH EMBRYO | PROCEDE DE PREPARATION D'UN EMBRYON DE POISSON
Summary: For producing fish embryo, which is useful for producing transgenic fish such as Japanese killifish ( Oryzias latipes ) (all claimed), goldfish, zebra fish, salmon, carp, flatfish, eel, yellowtail, trout and sea bream. The transgenic fish is useful as ornamental fish, and as model for diagnosis, gene expression analysis, drug development and environment assessment, for environmental monitoring of various disease and environmental hormone equalization studies.
Novelty: Preparing fish embryo for producing transgenic fish e.g. Japanese killifish and salmon, by subjecting activated unfertilized egg to physical/chemical stress, transducing nucleus of fish to unfertilized egg and producing fish embryo
