Useful to search new compounds suppressing neuronal damage in a various conditions.The newly synthesized carbenoxoloneprodrug(Compound B) effectively suppressed glutamate release by activated microglia, and suppressed microglialneruotoxicity. Compound B could ameliorate disease progression of model animals for various neurodegeneration. The compound, thus, could be a candidate for treating neuronal degeneration in a variety of neurological disorders.
