Visual Analytics Platform for Interactive Decision Making
Researchers at Purdue University have developed Visual Analytics for Simulation-Based Action (VASA), a visual analytics platform for interactive decision making and computational steering of large-scale simulation pipelines based on a visual analytics approach. VASA Workbench is an interactive desktop application that binds together a configurable pipeline of distributed simulation components. It enables an analyst to visually integrate, explore, and compare the interrelated and cascading effects of system-of-systems (SoS) components and potential final alternative outcomes. This tool provides an interface for an analyst to navigate in time including stepping backwards and forwards, playing back an event sequence, jumping to a particular point in time, adding events and threats to the timeline, and initiating mitigation measures.
