Graphene/CNT-embedded Nanofibres for Clean Energy and Environment
Inserting Graphene/Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) into nanofibres results in fast transport of electron/charge in semiconductor nanofibres. It significantly increases the efficiency of solar cells for energy harvesting and photocatalysts for air purification by 40% - 66%.
• It increases reaction surface area for gas molecules/bacteria/viruses adsorption. When applying it as a photocatalyst, it can reduce the chance of getting cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, and lung cancer.
• High charge conductivity reducing electron-hole recombination that is the major limitation of semiconductors
• It enhances light harvest in both UV and visible light spectrum, and increases efficiency of solar cell up to 66%
