Detailed Technology Description

The present invention relates to the method of using a therapeutically effective amount of anthraquinone derivative, namely 9,10-Dihydro-4,5-dihydroxy-9,10-dioxo-2-anthracenecarboxylic acid, also known as rhein, as an inhibitor of sonic hedgehog signaling pathway for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of the disease or disorder depending on the signaling pathway such as fibrotic conditions, stellate cell-related pathologies, inflammatory activities and/or proliferative diseases including tumors and adenocarcinoma.
