Solvatochromic Functional Monomer and the Use Thereof for Chemosensing by Solvatochromic Molecular Impritng
Chemosensing refers to the detection of targeted analytes by molecular-level sensors known as chemosensors. The use of chemosensing is however limited by high development and fabrication costs of chemosensors. This problem can be remedied by molecular imprinting technology. Molecular imprinting is a template-directed polymerization technique that is considered as one of the most convenient and low-cost approaches to generating artificial receptors for chemosensing. We have developed chemosensing applications from molecularly imprinted polymer materials for clinical testing, environmental and food safety monitoring.
