The complementary wideband antenna invented by CityU offers an attractive alternative since it has a wide bandwidth and stable gain. The antenna comprises a planar dipole and a shorted patch antenna located between the dipole sections, with the dipole sections being spaced above a ground plane. A variety of feed probe designs can be used to excite the antenna.
