Production strain of Chlamydomonas cf. nivalis alga for the preparation of phosphatidylglycerol (PG), method of increasing PG amount in this production strain as well as the use of the production strain for industrial preparation of PG
- Detailed Technology Description
- In the present invention, there is disclosed a production strain of Chlamydomonas cf. nivalis green alga deposited in the Collection of autotrophic organisms of the Institute of Botany of the ASCR, Trebon, Dukelska 135, under depository number of the sample CCALA 970: Chlamydomonas cf. nivalis NEDBALOVA, 2011/1, which production strain can be used for industrial production of an easily to extract, pure phosphatidylglycerol (PG) for chemical standards, pharmaceutical applications and other use. In the present invention, there is also described a method of increasing PG amount and amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids in the above-indicated production strain, said method comprising exposing the production strain to either high or low temperatures, optionally alternating high and low temperature.
