Cyber Security NIST Framework Curriculum - "NCSF Controls Factory™"
- Detailed Technology Description
- "UMass-Lowell NIST Cyber-Security Framework for Designing andBuilding Cybersecurity Programs” is a innovative NIST cybersecurity trainingprogram built around an NCSF Controls Factory™ (NCSF-CFM) model developed byLarry Wilson. The program has been used to train the engineering, operations andbusiness teams responsible for operationalizing the NIST CybersecurityFramework Program controls (CIS 20 Critical Controls, ISO27002 etc.) across theUniversity of Massachusetts campuses.p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica}
- *Abstract
-
The NCSF Control Factory™ model helpsenterprises organize the Engineering, Operations and Business Risk of an NCSFprogram. The model is completely adaptable, which means that each of themodules can easily be updated, replaced or modified with minimal impact on theoverall solution. Organizations are free to choose the minimum set of controlsits need to improve its cybersecurity risk profile and then over time adoptadditional controls that will take it to a higher cybersecurity state. Thefactory approach allows for changes in the cybersecurity threat landscape, newvulnerabilities and the addition of improvements while still keeping a focus onthe critical assets and identities.
