- Lead Inventors: Laszlo TothDescription: Techniques for the implementation of a signal processing circuit which expands the dynamic range of the signal processing circuit is described. The technique does not interrupt the output of the circuit.The method and system include a signal processing system whose input signal has an in-band component and an out-band component. Each one of the signal processing circuits are adapted for optimal processing of input signals over a different range. A signal strength detector is coupled to the output of the signal processing circuits. The signal strength detector provides a switch control signal to the switch input coupled to the signal processing circuits.The system operates in an energy-efficient manner without interrupting the output of the circuit or causing distortion.
