*Abstract: Lip lacerations and burns can occur during surgical procedures in the mouth and throat. Surgeons at Nationwide Children's have developed a disposable device to cover a patient's upper and lower lips during surgery. This device adjusts to fit the patient's mouth and will act as a physical and thermal barrier to prevent injury.
