Simultaneous Detection of Samples Using Parallel NMR Coils
- Summary
- Researchers at Purdue University have developed a method of multiplex NMR that is based on the use of non-interfering, high-sensitivity coils used in parallel. This method can achieve a throughput between 6 to 10 times over currently available technologies, with only minimal reduction in spectral resolution. Multiplex NMR is capable of measuring multiple samples simultaneously, while using 15 times less sample volume than current NMR methods. This technology includes both the hardware and software to achieve the simultaneous data collection.

- *Background
- Despite the many advances in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, currently, measurements are made on a single sample at a time, resulting in limited throughput. In addition, the volume needed for NMR analysis is relatively large.
