Preservation of Eukaryotic Cells using Reversible Pore Formation

詳細技術說明
This technology is a method for stabilizing eukaryoticcells, particularly mammalian and human cells, in order to introduce otherwisemembrane impermeable compounds that are helpful for stabilizing the cellsduring drying, chilling, freezing, freeze-drying, or cryopreservation.
*Abstract

The cells are exposed to extracellular ATP (adenosine5'-triphosphate) in concentrations that are sufficient to open pores in theplasma membrane. The otherwise membrane-impermeable compounds that aid insurvivorship of cells are introduced, and after a brief time the pores areclosed. Once the stabilizing compound has been introduced, the cells may bestably preserved and no antigenic compounds need to be introduced.
