- Detailed Technology Description
- A process for the production of uniaxially oriented, high-modulus and high-strength PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or PBT (PBT = polybutylene terephthalate) profiles directly from the melt has been developed at the Technical University of Dortmund. Therefore PET or PBT is crosslinked in the extruder with PA (phthalic anhydride) and TGDDM (tetraglycidyl-diaminodiphenylmethane) and then stretched from the melt.
