X-PET - Unaxially oriented high modulus and high strength PET and PBT

Summary: Process for the production of unaxially oriented, high modulus and high strength PET (polyethylene terephtalate) or PBT (PBT = polybutylene terephthalate) profiles developed directly from the melt. PET and PBT fibers are state-of- the art high performance amterials that only attain their good mechanical properties through targeted melt- drawing. The components produced so far achieve a modulus of elasticity of more than 14 GPa and a tensile strength of more than 600 MPa.
