- The invention SEED describes a method of producing active material in lithium-ion batteries from carbon-containing CoO particles. The starting material Co3O4 is reduced by means of sucrose at 500 ° C to CoO or elemental Co. The resulting carbon-coated nanoparticles lead to increased electronic conductivity of the battery anode and prevent harmful agglomeration of the nanoparticles among themselves.
