- Thesurgical removal of tissue from a surface in the body, or ablation, is atedious and careful task for medical professionals. Careful monitoring of vitalsigns, including temperature, is necessary to safely complete a procedure.Ultrasound-based temperature measurement devices have great potential servingas a non-contact way for surgeons to monitor the condition of a patient.Without an accurate non-contact temperature sensor, ablation dosage can only beestimated based on the duration of the procedure. Having constant monitoring oftemperature will eliminate the risk of under-ablation and give doctors a muchmore precise idea of their patient’s condition.
