Basilisk ATV System

Technology Benefits
Allowsall-terrain vehicles to enter large bodies of water, an ability not offered byany product currently on the market.Canhold a combined rider and cargo weight of up to 800 pounds while stillmaintaining a safe submergence level. Relativelylow production cost puts product price range within that expected by consumers.Supplementarynature of the product makes it much less expensive than Engine modificationsand unconventional ATV alternatives. The compactablenature of the device allows the rider to carry it on rides until they encounterwater, at which point the rider can attach the device.
Detailed Technology Description
A system called Basilisk, which allows for deep-water entrance for all-terrainvehicles (ATVs).
*Abstract

Thisportable system is easily attachable to ATVs upon encountering large bodies ofwater to provide buoyancy and maintain the integrity of the ATV in water. Thebuoyant nature of the product allows the ATV to enter a large body water andcontinue forward, without submerging the engine or the driver.

*Background
All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are not truly allterrain; they cannot enter large bodies of water without incurring damage.  There is currently no feasible productavailable to the public that solves this problem.  Existing products only allow ATVs to entershallow bodies of water, adding little buoyancy.  In the current market, consumers must choosebetween making expensive modifications to traditional ATVs or purchasingexpensive alternative ATVs, which resemble small boats on wheels.  Each alternative can cost the consumer tens ofthousands of dollars.  There exists amarket need for a supplementary ATV product that would enable amphibiouslocomotion. Such a device would need tobe compact enough for storage while riding the ATV, attachable and detachableat will, and less expensive than the alternative modifications orunconventional ATV models.
