Bubble-Based Ion Source System for Mass Spectrometers
Can handle complex samplesIons generated at low voltagesNo filters necessary
Applications include droplet analysis experiments such as Millikan fractional charge searches and aerosol characterization, as well as material deposition applications. Transport in mass spectrometer systems, manage complex samples
USF inventors have developed a bubble-based ion source and transport system for use in mass spectrometer systems. The system can manage complex samples, which leads to a reduction on the amount of sample preparation and requires nofilters. This technique can also be paired with any current mass analyzers such as orbitrap, quadrupole ion trap, etc. Additionally, the system can achieve higher ion yields due to its increased surface.
