- Detailed Technology Description
- In an effort to make advanced simulators more accessible, USF researchers have invented a technique/platform for providing simulations via packet switched networks that include stable and accurate haptic feedback. This invention enables access to low-cost haptic-based simulation training virtually anywhere and at anytime. This invention is applicable to a wide array of fields such as medical and military simulations, cloud gaming, product marketing and engineering design.
- *Abstract
-
The University of South Florida has invented a novel cloud-based streaming platform that enables providing tactile feedback to users along with visual and audio feedback over packet-switched networks (i.e., the internet). This invention provides unparalleled stability and accuracy for cloud based applications and simulations that allow users to see, hear, touch, and interact with virtual objects in real-time.
