The new imaging system discussed here, requires no active microwave multiplexer networks eliminating a major portion of the hardware thus producing a system that is small and low-cost. The system is composed of an antenna array (shown as a 16 element linear antenna array), a microwave source, data acquisition hardware, and a PC for image processing. The microwave source, whose output frequency is programmed by the PC, outputs a signal that is equally split by the passive divider network (e.g., wilkinson dividers) and distributed to each antenna. This design produces signals that are emitted from the antennas with equal magnitude and phase.
