Over the past few decades, researchers have made significant advances in elucidating the role of natural killer (NK) cells in therapeutics for a variety of cancers. Most clinical trials will require large numbers of NK cells for infusion. Therefore, an efficient, reproducible process is required to generate high quantity and high quality clinical-grade NK cells for manufacturing. Researchers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital have identified and validated cell media for NK cell expansion that significantly outperforms the current standard for NK growth and expansion.
