- *Abstract
-
This invention relates to a method of scaling global internet routing. By using IP-in-IP tunnels and virtual prefixes, the technology allows ISPs to partition routing tables into multiple smaller tables. These can be distributed among various routers, reducing routing table entries and accelerating convergence. This ISP-centric method promises to be an efficient and stable way of greatly improving end-to-end performance.
