Insect Sodium Channels from Insecticide-Susceptible and Insecticide-Resistant House Flies
- Detailed Technology Description
- The invention introduces a gene that may be used to screen for insecticidal compounds or in the development of a novel insecticide per se.
- *Abstract
-
A gene obtained from house fly (Musca domestica) that encodes for a receptor protein associated with the voltage-sensitive sodium channel ion transport system. This ion transport system confers insecticidal sensitivity or resistance to the insect. The gene may be used to screen for insecticidal compounds or in the development of a novel insecticide per se.
