NY140 isa dual purpose chipstock/tablestock clone that is resistantto blackspot bruise, resistant toboth races Ro1 or Ro2 ofthe golden nematode and moderatelyresistant to early and late blight. It is susceptible to common scab. Itdemonstrates excellent yielding ability, averaging 115% of themarketable yield of the cultivar ‘Atlantic’ in Tompkins County, New York. Itsspecific gravity will, however, limit the locations where it could be grown forchips. It features a lightly texturedskin; its tubers are large, remain white after boiling and do not sloughsignificantly.
