Catadioptric single camera systems having radial epipolar geometry and methods and means thereof
- Summary
- Lead Inventors: Shree Kumar NayarMethods and systems for capturing depth information in an image are described. Catadioptric single camera systems capable of sampling the light field of a scene from a locus of circular viewpoints are described. The method for obtaining depth information from an image involves sampling a light field of a scene with a catadioptric single camera system. The camera system has radial epipolar geometry. The image thus obtained is processed to obtain depth information. The system includes a camera and mirrors having radial epipolar geometry. The method and system can be used to compute disparities along the edges. Stereo algorithms using the images can compute depth at any points in space.
