Radiolabeled arylsulfonyl compounds and uses thereof
- Summary
- Lead Inventors: Joseph John MannMethods of making radiolabeled arylsulfonyl compounds, and its use as imaging agents for COX-2 enzyme are described.COX-2 protein expression in a subject is detected by administering an imaging-effective amount of radiolabeled arylsulfonyl compounds or it pharmaceutically acceptable salts. The radioactive emission is detected using PET in brain, joints, heart, and kidney.Radiolabeled arylsulfonyl compounds are specific positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agents for the detection of COX-2 protein expression. These compounds help to monitor the progress or regression of an inflammatory disease in a subject.
