A Biliverdin-Binding RNA Aptamer for Fluorescent RNAs and a Small RNA Sensor
- Detailed Technology Description
- University of Delawareresearchers have created a fluorescent RNA sensor, which is capable ofdetecting cognate small RNA with high specificity, across a broad dynamicrange. The researchers have also developed a system for screening geneticallyencoded, endogenous fluorophore, biliverdin (BV). The screening andcharacterization of BV-binding RNA aptamers enables non-invasive deep-tissuemonitoring of RNA in vivo. Thetechnology can also be used for measurement of small RNAs or other smallmolecules that can be detected by an RNA-based sensor.
