Expression of Wood-Ljungdahl Pathway Genes in the Organism Class of Clostridia and Other Anaerobes (Jointly Owned with Northwestern University)
- Detailed Technology Description
- The invention provides detailson a novel anti-thrombotic drug via a specific protein inactivation. Researchhas indicated the presence of this protein expressed in platelets, the keyplayers in the pathology of thrombosis. Research has also indicated that thisprotein may be the key regulator in platelet function, and thus thrombosis.Inactivation of this protein has been shown to greatly protect fromexperimental thrombosis without the side effect of bleeding.
