- *Abstract
-
Currently, all tissue diagnostic (especially optical confocal microscopic) techniques lack precise diagnosis/analysis at depths higher than 300-350 ┬╡m in the human skin. The major reason for this is an observed multiple scattering at depths, leading to significant optical noise as well as related discontinuous optical properties. This approach discloses a novel, coherent confocal microscopic technique involving a combination of an ultrasound and a confocal microscopy for optoacoustic signal detections, overcoming most prior art limitations.
