Microbial Growth FactorsDescription:MICROBIAL GROWTH FACTORSINV-1145INVENTORS: Kim Lewis, Pallavi Murugkar, Anthony DΓÇÖOnofrio, Eric StewartLink to PDFDescriptionMany unsuccessful attempts have been made to culture all microorganisms present in a given environment. A variety of media has been used for this purpose. Special focus has been given to microorganisms belonging to human micro-biome. However, even compounds like Menadione (a synthetic quinone) have been unable to efficiently grow a number of organisms from this environment. This novel approach enables the development and use of novel microbial growth factors (such as quinones) to successfully grow such uncultured microorganisms.
