- *Abstract
-
This intracranial biopsy system consists of a fiber optic endoscopic channel that contains the biopsy needle and two coagulation agents. The coagulation agents are electrocautery, which uses an electric current, and thermal ablation, which uses thermal lasers. Both methods essentially destroy the tissue surrounding the biopsy sample through cauterization, which prevents further bleeding caused by the biopsy.
