Detailed Technology Description

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a windmill: in which, when wind is weak, area for receiving the wind can be enlarged so as to sufficiently receive the wind, allowing a predetermined rotation frequency to be secured, and, when wind is strong, the area for receiving the wind can be reduced, allowing a rotation frequency to be controlled to a predetermined value; and which has strength against wind pressure and has less cause of failure with high reliability, and to provide a wind power generator using the windmill.SOLUTION: The windmill unit includes: a rotator in which a pair of rotating plates are connected with two and more rotating shafts vertically arranged with respect to the rotating plates so as to be all in a position of the same angle and the same distance, one another, from each center of the rotating plates; and two or more wind receiving plates which are fixed to each of the rotating shafts, with a curved cross sectional shape. In the windmill unit, racks are provided on each outer surface side of the wind receiving plates, and pinion gears are provided on the adjacent rotating shafts sides so as to correspond to the racks. Using such a rank and pinion mechanism, the wind receiving plates are expanded and stored in the windmill unit, and the wind power generator uses the windmill.
