Anti- Eukaryotic Actin Related Proteins (ARP) Monoclonal Antibodies (2 lines)
Lines 12A2.A3.C2 and 12B2.G4.E2.C4 recognize Actin-RelatedProtein 6 (ARP6) while line 13F10.A4.G6 binds to the C-terminal amino acids ofARP8 and line 12F5.D4.C3 recognizes the N-terminal amino acids of ARP8. Alllines have been validated for use in WB, ELISA, IF,IB and Immunocytochemistry.Actin-related proteins (ARPs) are found in the nuclei of alleukaryotic cells, but their functions are generally understood only in thecontext of their presence in various yeast and animal chromatin-modifyingcomplexes. Arabidopsis ARP8 shows 30 and 29% amino acid identity to yeast actinand Arabidopsis ACT2 in the regions of alignment, respectively. Because it isnot closely related to yeast or human ARP8 and shows similar weak homology toyeast ARP8 and ARP9, the Arabidopsis ARP8 is considered a plant-specific orphanARP. Arabidopsis thaliana ARP6 is a clear homolog of other eukaryotic ARP6s,including Saccharomyces cerevisiaeARP6, which was identified as a component of the SWR1 chromatin remodelingcomplex. Arabidopsis ARP6 is localized to the nucleus during interphase butdispersed away from the chromosomes during cell division. ARP6 expression wasobserved in all vegetative tissues as well as in a subset of reproductivetissues. Null mutations in ARP6 caused numerous defects, including altereddevelopment of the leaf, inflorescence, and flower as well as reduced femalefertility and early flowering in both long- and short-day photoperiods.
