Calculation ofradiation exposure during computed tomography (CT) imaging helps physiciansestimate a patient’s risk of future radiation-related cancer. Physicians atNationwide Children’s have developed a program that uses anatomically correctmodels to determine radiation exposure. This program can be used to determinethe total radiation dose a patient receives over a period of time and allowsfor a personalized assessment of the risk of negative effects.
