Liver Cancer Diagnostic Markers
Purdue University researchers have developed a diagnostic tool to detect liver cancer and the aggressiveness of the cancer. By looking for a protein profile, they can determine if the liver is likely to develop cancer because of the virus and the cancer's stage - precancerous, proliferative, or metastatic. Human samples and animal models were used to verify results.
