Rehabilitation Method and System for Psychomotor Training
This solution provides a system and method to assist psychomotor training of individuals with movement disabilities of upper limb. It detects compensatory motions of individuals? trunk and upper limbs during psychomotor training. Furthermore, it guides individuals towards reducing the detected compensatory motions via real-time feedback. It is a game-based calibrated application to determine the best match motion data of an individual with upper limb?s movement disability with reference to a healthy individual.

Each game task comprises capturing a motion data of the individual, determining a compensatory motion of the individual, determining a compensation strategy based on the determined compensatory motion of the individual, adjusting a next game task according to the determined compensation strategy, and recording a performance of the individual. Individual?s performance is graphically displayed after each training session, in terms of the hand trajectory as captured by a gesture-based camera and motion data of its orientation and position of seven joints of the individual.
