Complementary Wideband Antenna
Complementary Wideband Antenna
Wideband antennas can accommodate different communication systems, and are therefore valued for their cost effectiveness. There are different approaches to implement wideband antennas but all approaches have their disadvantages. The complementary wideband antenna invented by CityU offers an attractive alternative since it has a wide bandwidth and stable gain. The antenna comprises a planar dipole and a shorted patch antenna located between the dipole sections, with the dipole sections being spaced above a ground plane. A variety of feed probe designs can be used to excite the antenna.
