Laser beam shaping is a key element in achieving better accuracy and resolution. Currently, there are two main methods for shaping a beam: one method uses two lenses to output a homogeneous beam with no power control. This method requires time consuming calibration of the lenses and can not accept others than the basic laser beam form as input. The second method, based on diffractive optical element (DOE), can adjust any input to any output but suffers from low power efficiency and does not have the durability which is required in an industrial laser. A technology that offers controllable high power and resolution laser with required durability will improve systems yield and efficiency.Our technology enables the production of any desired output laser beam from any input using a single lens. The lens is designed by a unique algorithm and manufactured using cutting edge technologies such as diamond turning and molding. The lens is situated at the laser head, a part of any laser system. Using a single lens provides high efficiency and durability while enabling easy integration without the need for calibration. Our algorithm produces the lens aspheric surfaces required to achieve power and resolution specification at each point.
