Image Compression Techniques and Devices Employing a Hybrid Compression Scheme 圖像壓縮技術以及採用混合壓縮方案的裝置
Novel methods for improving compression efficiency by compressing and encoding images are proposed in this patent. The image to be compressed is partitioned into blocks, which will then be individually analyzed to determine suitability for discrete wavelet transform pre-processing. The blocks are also analyzed to minimize any directional correlation that may occur within the blocks. The technique aims to eliminate high frequency components in the blocks that are intrusive to users’ sight. Non-zero discrete cosine transform coefficients are reduced both in number and magnitude.
