Fluorescent Water-Soluble Conjugated Polyene Compounds That Exhibit Aggregation Induced Emission and Methods of Making and Using Same具有聚集誘導發光特性的多烯類螢光生物探針基于四苯基乙烯染料的水分散性螢光高分子微納米球
In the present invention we designed and synthesized a series of water-soluble linear and cyclic pi-conjugated organic compounds (hereinafter polyenes) with different chromophores including tetraphenylethylene, siloles, fulvene, butadienes, and 4H-pyrans. The emission color of these polyenes ranges from blue to red arising from the different chromophoric structures. Their fluorescent behavior features the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) phenomenon. When dissolved in aqueous media, they are practically nonemissive, however, the fluorescence can be turned on in the presence of biomacromolecules such as proteins, DNA and RNA. A linear relationship between the fluorescence intensity and the concentration of analytes is also shown in a certain range, which is of great importance for protein and DNA assays. All these features make AIE-active molecules excellent candidates for the usage of various sensor and detection devices.
1. Highly sensitive to biomacromolecules
2. Water-solubility
3. Stable
4. Easily prepared and processed into a device
5. Easily decorated with any functional groups or reactive sites, such as oligonucleotide, antibody, etc.
- The invented materials might find applications as different kinds of biosensors, in particular for the DNA and protein assays.
