Selective T-Cell Removal For Transplants

詳細技術說明
Title: Selective Trace Cancer Cell Removal for Stem-Cell Transplants Invention: This technology is a new method to identify, characterize, sort and remove trace amounts of cancer cells within a hematopoietic stem cell population ex vivo. This method helps to improve outcomes of stem cell transplantation. Background: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantations are increasingly used to help treat a variety of blood based cancers and pathologies. There are currently two main types of stem cell transplants; autologous (using your own cells) or allogenic (using donor cells). Both types of stem cell transplantations come with risks associated, including relapse of the cancer later on and graft vs. host disease. Therefore, improvements are needed to provide the right type of T-cell populations in order to decrease contaminating tumor cells and the chance of getting graft vs. host disease. Applications: Purification of hematopoietic stem cell transplantations Advantages:Faster than current sorting techniquesHigher specificityLess expensive Licensing Manager:Laura SilvaLauraS@tla.arizona.edu(520) 626-1557
