- 詳細技術說明
- Epigenome editing is a rapidly developing field. Proteins are used to control the expression of specific genes in cells by controlling epigenetic information. Distinct histone epigenetic marks have been associated with gene expression, but information regarding the causal relationship is lacking. Researchers at the University of California, Davis have developed a programmable dCas9 toolkit that allows for the precise control of the epigenome. The method uses fusions between proteins with methylation activity and dCas9 to alter epigenetic marks on histones (H3K27me3) at specific DNA sequences. These fusions can be used to test the effects of sequence-specific epigenetic marks on gene expression.
