Though derived from rice, the Rice Actin promoter has been widely used in commercial crops. Rice Actin promoter helps express the traits desired by farmers, such as herbicide-resistant, insect resistant crops and many other traits. It is an efficient promoter for regulating the constitutive expression of a foreign gene. Compared to other promoters that are widely used (i.e. cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter), our promoter was proven to be more active in numerous crops. This technology is used by seed companies of all sizes, ranging from giants corporations to smaller agriculture companies.
