Ultrasound for High-Resolution Characterization of Cardiac Electrical Activity
- 詳細技術說明
- This technology describes the use of ultrasound imaging deep within cardiac tissue, which is able to track the location and motion of cardiac action potentials in two and three dimensions and can be used to clinically diagnose ventricular fibrillation (VF) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) in the heart
- *Abstract
-
This technology describes the use of ultrasound imaging deep within cardiac tissue, which is able to track the location and motion of cardiac action potentials in two and three dimensions and can be used to clinically diagnose ventricular fibrillation (VF) and ventricular tachycardia (VT) in the heart.
Potential Advantages
- This non-invasive approach to obtaining detailed data on heart rhythms represents an improvement in patient comfort compared to other imaging techniques that involve plunge electrodes.
- No physical damage occurs by use of this technology.
- Adequate time resolution compared to CT and MRI techniques, therefore superior in viewing physiological dynamical issues.
