Background: College tuition has almost quadrupled in the last 3 decades due to budget cuts and it has critically impacted course offerings. Institutions need a resolution to maximize their limited funds judiciously without pushing students into exorbitant college debt.
Brief Description: UCR researchers developed a coursework planning and enrollment management system called A+. It is an interactive, multifunctional and user-friendly system computed with innovative algorithms. Students can customize course plans and minimize degree completion time whereas advisors can focus on high-level advising functions since A+ replaces their menial tasks. Both students and advisors can cyber-communicate through this platform without needing to set up an office visit, freeing up time for both parties. Students, staff, and faculty who have sampled it have provided positive feedback.
