- Lead Inventors: R. Theodore Smith A method of leveling an image with non-uniform background and also computer software for leveling an image with non-uniform background, are described. The basic data of an image with non-uniform background is obtained. A mathematical algorithm is applied to the basic data to construct another image. The constructed image reflects the non-uniformity of the background of the first image. The constructed image is then subtracted from the first image to generate a processed image. The method efficiently generates uniform backgrounds so that precise measurement of images can be attained.
