Disclosedare: a detection kit for detecting a gene targeted bymiRNA; and a method for detecting a gene targeted by miRNA in a simple mannerwithout the need of carrying out any operation for introducing a gene into acell using a vector. Specifically disclosed is a kit for detecting a genetargeted by microRNA, which comprises a cellextraction reagent, a microRNA-labelingreagent or labeled microRNA, anda reaction reagent with the microRNA-labeling substance. A cell extractis prepared under mild conditions, labeledmiRNA is added to the cell extract, anda labeled substance is collected. In thismanner, mRNA for a genetargeted by miRNA can be collected readily. cDNAis produced from the collected mRNA, and a gene targeted by miRNA is detected using the cDNA.
