Provided are: a novel thiosulfonate compound which cancationize a wider variety of proteins and peptides precisely and reversiblywith high quality stability and is thus useful for high-level purification andrecovery; a reversibly cationizing agent for proteins and/or peptides; and a method for the solubilization ofproteins and/or peptides using thesame. Specifically provided is a thiosulfonate compound that has three ormore quaternary ammonium cations in one molecule.
